Current status: no active affiliate or commercial partnerships. As of the date above, ProteinScore.com.au has no active affiliate programmes, no paid partnerships, no sponsored placements, and no commercial arrangements with any brand, manufacturer, or retailer. Outbound links to retailers (Woolworths, Coles, Aldi, Chemist Warehouse, Amazon Australia, brand direct stores, and others) currently earn us nothing. We publish this site because the labelling, marketing, and rating landscape for protein products in Australia is genuinely confusing and we want to give shoppers something clearer.
This page exists so that if and when we activate affiliate links in the future, the disclosure framework, ACCC compliance posture, and editorial-independence rules are already published and in force. The rules below apply prospectively.
1. What Is an Affiliate Link?
An affiliate or referral link is a hyperlink that contains a unique tracking code. When a reader clicks such a link and makes a purchase at the linked retailer, the publisher of the link may receive a small percentage of the sale as a commission. The price the reader pays is unaffected.
2. Current Commercial Relationships
As of the "Last updated" date at the top of this page, ProteinScore.com.au has no active affiliate programmes, no paid partnerships, no sponsored content arrangements, no paid placements in any guide or ranking, and no commercial agreements with any brand, manufacturer, retailer, or third party related to the products featured on the Service.
We have not received free product samples, paid trips, gifted product, or any other in-kind benefit in exchange for editorial coverage. No brand or retailer has paid for inclusion in any guide, ranking, or category page.
3. Programmes We May Activate in Future
We may, at our discretion, activate one or more of the following affiliate or referral programmes in the future. If we do, this page will be updated within 7 days of activation and the relevant programme will be moved from this list into Section 2.
- Amazon Associates Programme (Amazon Australia)
- Chemist Warehouse affiliate programme
- iHerb affiliate programme
- Australian Sports Nutrition (ASN) referral programme
- MyProtein Australia affiliate programme
- Direct brand-to-publisher referral arrangements with Australian protein brands
- Retailer-administered referral programmes operated by Woolworths, Coles, Aldi, or other major Australian grocery retailers (where such programmes exist and are open to consumer-information publishers)
Inclusion of a programme in the list above is not a representation that the programme is currently active or that we have applied to or been accepted by the operator of the programme.
4. Editorial Independence: Our Core Commitment
Affiliate relationships, when and if they exist, will have zero influence on our scores, rankings, guide placements, or editorial content. Full stop.
Our Protein Score and Clean Score are calculated by applying our published scoring methodology (/how-we-score/) to nutritional data. We do not, and will not, accept payment, sponsorship, or other commercial arrangements in exchange for higher scores, favourable reviews, prioritised placement in guides, or improved positions in our rankings.
A product from a retailer with whom we have an affiliate arrangement is assessed using exactly the same criteria as a product from a retailer with whom we have no commercial relationship. If a product scores poorly, that score is published regardless. If a product from an affiliate retailer ranks lower than a product from a non-affiliate retailer in a buying guide, the ranking stands.
5. What Will Trigger an Update to This Page
We will update this page within 7 days of any of the following events:
- Acceptance into, or activation of, any affiliate or referral programme listed in Section 3 or otherwise
- Receipt of free product samples from a brand or manufacturer (whether or not coverage is provided in return)
- Entry into any sponsored content arrangement, paid placement, paid review, or paid social media partnership
- Receipt of any payment, gift, or in-kind benefit from a brand, manufacturer, retailer, or PR agency representing them
- Entry into a data licensing, content syndication, or commercial API arrangement with a third party
The historical timeline of activations and deactivations will be retained in this section so that readers can verify what was disclosed and when.
6. Buying Guides, Rankings, and Affiliate Links
Our buying guides (including retailer-specific guides, brand comparisons, toplist rankings, and "best of" lists) may, in future, contain affiliate links to the products featured. The order in which products appear in these guides is determined solely by our scoring algorithm and the guide's stated sorting criteria (e.g. Protein Score, protein per 100g, sugar per 100g, or calories per 100g). Affiliate relationships will not influence product ordering, inclusion, or exclusion.
When a buying guide compares brands (e.g. YoPRO vs Chobani, or My Muscle Chef vs Youfoodz), both brands are assessed using identical criteria regardless of whether we have an affiliate arrangement with one, both, or neither of the relevant retailers.
7. ACCC Guidelines and Australian Consumer Law
This disclosure is provided in accordance with guidelines published by the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) regarding online reviews, influencer marketing, and commercial endorsements. The ACCC requires that material commercial relationships between publishers and businesses be clearly disclosed to consumers.
We comply with the Australian Consumer Law's prohibition on false, misleading, or deceptive conduct (s. 18, ACL) and its provisions regarding misleading representations (s. 29, ACL). Our scores and rankings reflect genuine editorial assessment, not paid promotion.
8. What We Do Not Do
We will never:
- Accept payment from a brand or manufacturer to alter, improve, or suppress a score or guide ranking
- Accept free product samples in exchange for favourable coverage or improved rankings
- Accept sponsored placement in our leaderboards, buying guides, or "best of" lists
- Enter sponsored content arrangements that are not clearly labelled as such
- Allow affiliate relationships to influence the order, inclusion, or exclusion of products in any guide or ranking
- Accept commission-linked targets that would create an incentive to over-feature any specific retailer or brand
9. Free Product Samples and Press Outreach
We do not currently accept free product samples, press boxes, or PR-arranged tasting sessions from brands, manufacturers, retailers, or their PR agencies. If we accept any such item in future (for example, to verify a label or photograph a product that is not available at retail), the receipt and the affected product or guide will be disclosed in this section within 7 days.

If you believe we have a commercial relationship that is not disclosed on this page, if you notice an outbound link that you suspect carries a tracking code we have not declared, or if you have any other concern about our editorial independence, contact us at hello@proteinscore.com.au and we will investigate and respond within 14 business days.
